The Email Which Stops 95% of All Spam

I have developed a email which I have been sending to Spammers which they fear and makes them remove my email address from their lists and makes them stop sending their SPAM.  Click here to view the email

To make this work, you must send this email directly to the Spammer.  If you received a 419 SCAM letter, you can easily find their return email addresses in the message. Click here and you will see that the Spammer used 2 email addresses; barrjohnwillr15@earthlink.net and barr_johwilliams3@yahoo.com.hk .

I usually use a free disposable email address at lycos.com to send my Stop Spam message.  I also hide my IP address when ever sending a spammer a message and I recommend that you do the same.  If you do no hide your IP and you send them a message, they will have your IP address and they may use it to send Spam, and if they do, you may get blamed for it. So use be sure to use a Free Anonymous Surfing browser like http://www.thefreecountry.com/security/anonymous.shtml or http://www.the-cloak.com when sending any messages to a spammer.

You CAN Sue Spammers

Despite what you may have heard regarding the new CAN-SPAM law which only allows ISP's to Sue Spammers, there is a loop hole which allows anyone to file suite.  Here's the law chapter & verse;

United States Code Title 47, Section 227(a)(2)(B) states that a computer, modem, and/or printer meets the definition of a telephone fax machine. Section 227(b)(1)(C) states that it is unlawful to send any unsolicited advertisement to such equipment. Section 227(b)(3)(C) states that a violation of the aforementioned Section is punishable by action to recover actual monetary loss, or $500, whichever is greater, for each violation.

File Spam Complaints

SpamCop.net - http://www.spamcop.net/

SpamCop determines the origin of unwanted email and reports it to the relevant ISP's (Internet Service Providers). It shows the e-mail addresses so you can forward the spam yourself to the appropriate parties by copy & pasting the addresses in the "TO" window of your e-mail program.

File complaints to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) by forwarding the Spam you received to uce@ftc.gov and spam@uce.gov

File complaints to your State Attorney General's Office if they have anti spam laws and fines for spamming.  To find out, visit your state's Attorney General's web site or call your state's Attorney General's office and ask.   In Florida, you can file your complaint online here http://myfloridalegal.com/SpamEnfo.nsf/Complaint

Domain Name Whois lookup

Spammers almost always uses false contact info when registering their domains names.  To find out if their registration info is false, use these websites to the find name, address and phone number of owner of websites, ISP's, & Hosting company responsible for hosting the Web Site of the Spammer or Browser Hijacker.  Then forward a copy of the SPAM you received to the listed Registrar, ISP, Hosting Company and FTC.

Report False or Missing Whois Data

If the contact info is missing or looks obviously false, report it here:  http://wdprs.internic.net/

It's always a good idea to send an e-mail directly to the registrar and complain about the false contact info and internet abuse you encountered from their customer.  When you fill out the problem report, the name of the registrar will be listed.  You can go to their web site and find their contact info.  If it's not listed on their web site, do a "whois lookup" at
http://www.completewhois.com/ and send your complaint to the  e-mail address listed in the contact info.

Responsible registrars should take immediate action, including TERMINATING or freezing the domain name if the domain name owner fails to correctly update his contact info.   Remember, you SHOULD be able to contact the owner of a domain name.  If the info is false / bogus, it's a ICANN violation which is grounds for termination of the domain name.  "the provision of false Whois information can be grounds for cancellation of your domain name registration".   Visit ICANN's web site at http://www.icann.org/registrars/wdrp.htm  for complete information on this.

Report Registrars Who Fail To Take Action

I've filed many complaints to registrars and many take action including freezing the domain name so it's no longer visible on the internet or terminating the domain.   Godaddy.com has been very responsible about taking action against internet & spam abusers who are using their registration services.

This link will take you to ICANN's web site and details ICANN's rules regarding inaccurate whois contact info and the registrars responsibility to get it corrected or terminate the registrants domain name;      http://www.icann.org/announcements/advisory-03apr03.htm .

to see a letter written to Network Solutions by ICANN when they (Network Solutions) failed to take appropriate action.

The worst registrar I've encounter is YESNIC.COM (see Internet Abusers Hit List), a company based in Korea, who after I've filed numerous complaints about several spammers with false contact info, has taken NO ACTION and who has never replied or acknowledged any of my e-mails.  I have filed complaints to ICANN about this registrar who is NOT enforcing ICANN's regulations and asked that ICANN revoke their status as a registrar.   Hopefully, If enough complaints are filed against this registrar, ICANN will take some kind of action.

Before filing a complaint, you should give the registrar at least 4 weeks to update the false or missing info, or terminate the domain name.    Here's the link to file complaints to ICANN about registrars who fail to make their customers update their contact info.     http://reports.internic.net/cgi/registrars/problem-report.cgi

You can also write them a e-mail at this address:   registrar-info@icann.org

Be sure to create a folder called "Spam" and keep copies of the all Spam you receive as evidence.   To really put the pressure on Spammers and Internet Abuse, report every incident of Spam or Internet Abuse you are subjected to.  Don't let them get away with ANY abuse.

Keep copies of all e-mail you send to ISP's, Hosting Companies, Registrars and Spammers.  These will be needed as evidence if legal action is taken
